Description
Experience the breathtaking beauty of Mt Cook National Park, home to New Zealand’s highest peak. This 3-day private tour is designed to capture the stunning alpine scenery, from the panoramic views of the Tasman and Hooker Valleys to the iceberg formations in the Tasman Lake. With world-renowned clear skies and no light pollution, you will have the chance to photograph the Milky Way above the Southern Alps. The tour is tailored to your photographic objectives, time of the year and your travel itinerary. It includes two nights accommodation and breakfast at the Hermitage Hotel, transport and hotel pickup from Queenstown, tuition and guiding, DOC concession fees, and a free copy of our “Pocket Guide Landscape and Wildlife Photography”. On the first day, you will have the option of meeting us at Mt Cook Village or an early pickup from Queenstown. After assembling at the Hermitage Hotel, you will explore locations in the park for the rest of the day. There will be plenty of time to cover settings for advancing your landscape photography, before heading out for an evening shoot in the Tasman Valley. The second day begins with the option for some pre-dawn astrophotography before heading back to the hotel for breakfast. You will alternate between locations in the park, capturing the panoramic views of the Tasman and Hooker valleys, including alpine lakes, sweeping river vistas and the beautiful alpine flowers (depending on the season). For those wishing for a more adventurous full day hike, there is the option to take an uphill climb to a high viewpoint in the park, to capture vistas of New Zealand’s highest peaks, glaciated valleys and alpine tarns. On the third day, you will have the opportunity to take a sunrise shoot to capture the first alpine glow on the summit of Mt Cook. If the weather allows, you can take a flight over Mt Cook for some aerial photography. The day will end with a late afternoon departure from Mt Cook or return transport back to Queenstown. This private tour is priced at $5500 for 1 person, or $2900 per person for 2-8 people. So don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to capture some of the most awe-inspiring alpine scenery around New Zealand’s highest peak.
